The Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial

22 quotations from Roosevelts Presidency, engraved into the red South Dakota granite walls of the memorial. Sometimes missed due to it’s location, but worth a walk to day or evening by moonlight.

Located at West Potomac Park between the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials.


The Martin Luther King, Jr Memorial

One of the newer memorials for Washington DC (2010-2011), honoring the legacy and struggle for freedom, equality and justice. Engraved with inspiring words, this memorial is worth a visit.
