“The Poppy Georgetown Guesthouse and Gardens, de propiedad y administración local, habla como un viejo amigo que nunca pierde el ritmo. La mejor escapada con la combinación perfecta de encanto de vecindario, hermosa vegetación y chispa social.” Flavia Tomaello

COZY LIKE HOME: The Re-Brand

The cozy and intimate boutique guesthouse Avery Georgetown is undergoing a springtime rebrand of sorts. Nico Vroom, general manager, tells us the venue at 2616 P St. NW will be officially “in bloom” as The Poppy Georgetown Guesthouse and Gardens come June.

It was “love at first sight” when TBC Hotels acquired the property in February 2022, said Emily McAuley, director of digital strategy and communications for TBC Hotels. As the acquisition developed, it became apparent that TBC Hotels wanted to offer something “a little different, a little extra.”

Super

"The accommodations are superb, the neighborhood is great. Right in between where it is all happening, Georgetown and Dupont Circle, yet quiet and picturesque."

It just popped up!

As my wedding gift to my mom, we recently spent a weekend wine tasting, shopping, and relaxing at The Salamander Spa in Middleburg, VA. It was such a lovely getaway and to kick it off we spent a night at a hotel in Georgetown, for old times’ sake.

I stumbled upon The Avery Georgetown after several unsuccessful Google searches plugging in some version of “cute, affordable hotel in Georgetown.” The Avery finally popped up as a charming option, in upper Georgetown, one of my favorite neighborhoods!

“We felt very welcome at the Avery! We traveled with three dogs. Some highlights of the stay was the lovely snack and drink bar for guests use any hour of the day. Some highlights for the pups were the dog amenities provided. We enjoyed the hotel so much and hope to travel again soon.

The hotel's GM Nico, was especially warm and helpful with any questions or anything that that came up during the stay”

A hidden gem in georgetown

My sister is currently attending college in Washington DC, so I now find myself spending a good bit of time there. My mother and I recently visited for her birthday celebration. We were all excited for a fun weekend getaway spent relaxing together. When we visit DC, we enjoy exploring the beautiful historic Georgetown area. There’s so much to do and see here! For this reason, we decided to stay at the impressive Avery Georgetown on our last visit. This inn has 15 guest rooms and suites and is located just moments away from Georgetown’s best restaurants, shops, and attractions. It is nestled in the perfect spot and is a hidden gem boutique DC property...

Top Rated Hotel

“The Avery was the perfect place for my husband & I to stay on our recent trip to DC. Our room overlooking the courtyard was lovely and spacious, the bathroom was also large and I particularly loved the large magnolia trees outside our windows. It's easy to say we really enjoyed our room and stay at The Avery.” Journey54191225490
